3-Color Precursors, 1860 onwards

A rich, high-quality collection of exhibition-ready images depicting the most important aspects of early color experiments and color realizations. – COLORING PROCESSES: 1) Salt paper: 34 x 28 cm gold stucco frame with a lady from Ratibor from 1861, captioned on the verso. – 2) Albumen paper: 4 cartes de visite from c. 1880 of children, 18 x 29 cm prints on 45 x 33 cm cardboard of a married couple from c. 1890, and 16 x 22 cm travel views: 2 of Egypt, 2 of Switzerland and 4 of the German Empire. – 3) Kaiserpanorama slides: 3 stereo slides 8.5 x 17 cm. – 4) Color collotype: 2 cabinet cards 11 x 17 cm of Dresden. – 5) Silver bromide paper: 32 x 37 cm of a lady from c. 1890, and an amateur album from c. 1940–50 with approx. 50 colorized 13 x 18 cm photos, very rare. – 6) Cinema poster glossy prints, 24 x 30 cm, after 1950: 11 colorized, 6 in various color formats, and 8 "Hitchcock versions" of black-and-white images with garish color stripes. – 3-COLOR PROCESS: 7) Cytochrome: 19 x 14 cm by Th. U. Oscar Hofmeister, Hamburg 1907. – 8) German color film after Robert Krayn, line screen process: Negative in 9 x 12 cm, presumably a sample from the NPG from 1907 according to the label. – In addition: 9 x 12 cm plate with original color screens at 60x magnification "Photographs taken by Dr. R. 布雷克拍品等级是为了方便竞买人判断拍卖品的成色而设置的。布雷克等级用1到6级来标注外观和功能的成色，(从非常好到非常差)。 在目录图册里用括号里的2个数字来表示，前一个数字表示外观成色的级别，后一个数字表示功能成色的级别。如(3/2)表示外观成色是3(满意的)，功能成色2(好)。 成色 定义参照下列标准： 1 - 非常好 (未使用过，没有使用痕迹) 2 - 好 (新，极少的使用痕迹) 3 - 满意的 (普通的使用痕迹) 4 - 及格的 (明显的使用痕迹，某个非主要部件是后配的) 5 - 有缺陷的 (极明显的使用痕迹, 某个主要部件是后配的，功能上有缺陷，需要修理) 6 - 非常差 (严重破损, 缺少重要部件)
